How we brought HOPE to Daytona Beach!
Hope Lutheran Church began with the direction of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s (ELCA) Division of Outreach. A search for temporary worship space began during this time. An agreement to use the Embry Riddle University Chapel was created in October of 1996, and opening worship was on November 24th, with 94 people in attendance. The charter of Hope Lutheran was opened on March 16, 1997. Forty-seven people signed the charter on that day. Hope Lutheran officially organized as a congregation of the ELCA in June 2000 with 98 members. A 6-acre parcel of land at was purchased in the fall of 1998. Construction of Hope's 5,200 square foot church building began in January of 2007, and was completed in October of 2007.
